Welcome to WorkTalk, I'm Michelle Clennett the driving force behind WorkTalk.

WorkTalk was born out of my experience and passion for creating inspiring workplaces and connecting organisational objectives to the hearts, hands, and minds of employees.

I am a qualified human resource practitioner, an accredited Prosci change manager, and a recent communications graduate of Deakin College.

For almost 20 years I have led people and grown businesses, with communication at the core of my success.

Commercial Nous 

I started my career in agency recruitment with global creative recruiter, Aquent. This was a foundational time for me, developing my commercial nous. In five years, I took an unprofitable Melbourne business of four employees to a thriving business of 20 employees with an annual operating profit of $1.2 million.

This experience refined my ability to rally teams, foster cohesion, set high-performance standards, and cultivate a culture geared to deliver outstanding business results.

 
Strategic Thinker 

I later transitioned to generalist human resource management, joining Hallmark Cards in a partnering role, and was rapidly promoted to human resources director. During my time I introduced the measure of employee engagement, resulting in year-on-year improvement of over 10%. I led various change and transformation projects from organisation redesign to technology implementations, whilst shaping a culture of collaboration for high performance. All of which was underpinned by consistent and transparent communication.

This experience refined my ability to deeply understand employee engagement, navigate complex organisational structures, influence stakeholders, and deploy people and culture strategies for organisational growth.

Creative Communicator 

For the last five years, I have dedicated myself to employee communications, working within FMCG, retail, and manufacturing organisations.  I have been the creative communication force behind organisation-wide internal communications strategies and large-scale transformation projects.  I am at my best when coupling my creative capability with my commercial foresight and executional excellence.

I reside on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria with her husband Ross and son, James, and am the proud step-mum to my adult children Guy and Nikki.
